Liposuction is a surgical procedure aimed at removing excess fat from different areas of the body by means of a canula with vacuum suction inserted through a small keyhole incision.
You will have an initial consultation with your surgeon, where you can discuss the results you would like to achieve. You will also have an initial examination, hear the doctors recommendations and answer any questions you may have.
Most of the time the procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia as an outpatient. After surgery the patient is recommended to take a few days off and to restart light exercise only 2 to 3 weeks later. After 6 weeks the patient is back to normal and there is practically no scar.
